What will you be doing and learning?
The marketing department at Macmillan Learning seeks a creative and collaborative intern to support the team on a range of activities, from campaign planning and execution to administrative tasks. The intern will gain valuable experience marketing the STEM, humanities, and social sciences disciplines, as well as technology platforms and custom content.
This position supports 4 marketing groups. The intern will report to the Humanities Marketing Assistant and will work closely with marketers and digital marketing, as well as in collaboration with design, editorial, and sales. You will gain experience working in a dynamic and collaborative marketing environment, gain exposure to the various roles in higher education publishing, gain confidence in communication skills and office etiquette, form relationships with industry professionals.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Marketing campaign building and execution
- Copywriting and editing
- Invoicing and vendor/customer payments
- Attend departmental and stakeholder meetings
- Assist in Social Media strategy
- Management of sales tools
Skills / Knowledge:
- You must be enrolled in a degreed program (i.e. Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.)
- We will accept applicants graduating from their degree in Spring 2023.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proactive and creative: takes initiative, collaborates, and solves problems
- Organized; schedules their time and tasks efficiently and effectively
- Treats others with respect and consideration
- Accurate and thorough, checks their work to ensure quality/consistency
- Follows instructions, responds to management direction
- Collects and synthesizes complex information
- Interest in marketing and/or publishing
