Position Summary:
The Marketing and PR Coordinator plays a pivotal role in executing comprehensive marketing initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and in collaboration with Marketing team members, consultants, and agencies, the Coordinator will plan and execute marketing campaigns, and carry out social media marketing for United Food Bank. The Coordinator will collaborate with both external partners and internal teams for effective communication and marketing strategies in order to achieve our organizational strategic goals of alleviating hunger in our community and service areas.
Requirements
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Campaign Management (30%)
- Partner with internal teams and/or external resources on campaign messaging, design, production, editing, approvals, and trafficking.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external resources to provide Marketing and communications support for events and fundraising initiatives
Social Media Support (30%)
- Assist in creating and posting content on social media platforms
- Monitor and analyze the performance of social media efforts
Marketing Content & Collateral (20%)
- Develop monthly email newsletters
- Develop and oversee the creation of diverse marketing collateral, including flyers and promotional materials
- Assist with capturing photos/videos at events, tours, volunteer sessions, and agency visits throughout the company for internal and external use
- Collaborate with storyteller to drive development of engaging stories that speak to target audiences
External Partnerships & PR (20%)
- Activate earned media opportunities in partnership with a Public Relations firm, leveraging staff that has previously completed media training
- Maintain strong working relationships across all departments to manage marketing opportunities and spokesperson requests
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's degree (A.A.) (or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school) and 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Computer proficiency in Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Software, specifically Word and Excel
- PR and event coordination experience
- Proficient in creating diverse marketing collateral and promotional materials
- Experience executing social media strategies and campaigns
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated individual
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the food bank
- Ability to effectively analyze situations and resolve routine and complex problems
- Adept at handling multiple tasks and concurrent projects
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
