Job description

  • Client is seeking an experienced Market Research Lead to support the needs of our fast-growing business. This is a unique opportunity to create and deliver innovative research which drives business results. 
  • In this role, you will lead research activities that help client better understand target audiences, the region we serve, and the competition, with the goal driving superior product development, brand / marketing campaign strategy, and consumer experiences. Candidate will design, execute, and analyze primary qualitative, quantitative and advanced analytics research, gather market and competitive intelligence, and deliver strategic insights to cross-functional teams to drive business results. Candidates possess a deep understanding of research methodologies and tradeoffs and are an expert in marshaling data and ideas into compelling presentations that help business partners answer critical questions to drive growth.
 
Qualifications:
- Lead qualitative, quantitative, and advanced analytic research studies in response to defined business needs. This includes survey design and discussion guide development, sample planning, survey execution, analysis and reporting to deliver actionable insights. Research scope: brand strategy, new product development, messaging and value proposition refinement, marketing campaign optimization, consumer journey optimization, and competitive benchmarking.
- Leverage primary and syndicated research, news and other sources of competitive intelligence to develop insightful analyses and presentations of financial product, consumer, and competitive trends in the U.S. market. Translate findings to meaningful recommendations to increase market share and enhance profitability. Ensure the resources for regular reporting to the business are in place, dependable and high quality.
- Develop and manage relationships with research agencies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify new opportunities for high-impact research which delivers actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and business performance.
- Conduct root cause analyses of member feedback emerging from the newly launched Voice of the Consumer (VoC) program.
- Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to client policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
 
Minimum Formal Education Required for this Position:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Statistics, Math or similar field of study
 
Minimum Work Experience:
- 5+ years' work experience in consumer insights, brand strategy, Market Research or related field.
- 3+ years' of experience partnering with stakeholders to develop actionable research insights which drive business results.
Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of "Knowledge Consistent with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2+ years' of accounting experience? could be substituted for a High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a Master's Degree in Accounting and 0 years of work experience
 
Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience designing and leading quantitative and qualitative research studies with expertise in survey design and questionnaire development, sample planning, survey execution, analysis and reporting.
- Deep understanding of the tradeoffs among research methodologies, and experience identifying the appropriate methodology to cost-effectively address business needs.
- High degree of intellectual curiosity and creative insight, coupled with a drive for actionable, tangible results.
- Demonstrated ability to draw conclusions and extract meaningful insight from data (experienced with excel, data visualization, pivot tables, significance testing etc).
- Deep understanding of consumer trends and their potential impact on the business.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the Market Research industry, research trends and innovation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate insights and implications to the business. Expertise in creating compelling presentations to communicate key findings and recommendations, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Highly collaborative and works effectively with a cross functional team, agencies and suppliers.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/Access).
