Maintenance Technician
Location: Phoenix 85043
Schedule: 2nd Shift
Job Description:
Inspect and fill all plastic injection machines and associated equipment. Ensure that all specifications and standards are in technical compliance.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot PLC hardware and software issues.
- Diagnose, analyze, and repair electro-mechanical and instrumentation equipment using testing methods.
- Apply knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic devices to install, repair, and replace defective equipment.
- Assist in writing and updating standard maintenance procedures and work instructions.
- Prepare work areas and ensure tools are available and in working order.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems while promoting proactive maintenance concepts.
- Complete scheduled PM assignments and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with Team Leaders and Supervisors regarding safety, quality, and production concerns.
- Maintain good housekeeping following 6S principles.
- Identify the need for replacement or new equipment and inform the supervisor.
- Provide necessary information for continuous improvement strategies.
- Cooperate with co-workers to maintain a positive working environment.
- Attend scheduled training classes.
- Focus on safety at all times and report any observed safety problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work around grease, oils, and solvents.
- Able to work in a production environment and recognize various sounds and alarms.
- Basic ability to read and interpret ladder logic, pneumatic, instrumentation, hydraulic, and electrical drawings and manuals.
- Experience with precision measuring tools and electrical meters.
- Experience with AC and DC motors, starters, PLC, sensors, relays, etc.
- Lean 5S experience is a plus.
- Must pass a written skills assessment test prior to hiring.
- Available to work any shift.
- Physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, climbing, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting/moving (up to 75 pounds).
- Preferred 2-year technical degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Preferred 2 years of hydraulic mechanic work experience.
- 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Injection molding experience is a plus.
- Previous experience with 10-1000 ton machines preferred.
