As a Market Analyst, this is your opportunity to set your mark in the building materials industry. You will be responsible for delivering key market insights that help inform the organization’s product and sales strategies. The ability to think creatively and analytically is crucial for this position. You will be tasked with developing hypotheses and making recommendations in support of various strategic topics such as product portfolio health, SWOT analysis of key brands and products, competitive pricing, and key market trends. Additionally, this position will keep a pulse on the market by regularly monitoring key competitor developments and summarizing their anticipated impact.
ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads category analysis and reporting for product portfolio, sales channels, and geographic regions.
- Responsible for understanding and documenting market and sales trends at the product, brand, segment, and geographic market levels.
- Maintains continuous awareness of competitive products, pricing, performance, market share, etc.
- Performs analyses that will be used to establish business-level pricing strategy and product line and market specific pricing practices.
- Build, maintain, and refine MS-Excel and Power BI based tools that will be used for ongoing analyses.
- Supports product managers with the creation of materials for portfolio review meetings and customer presentations.
- Assists in the creation of Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs).
Skills/Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and creative thinking ability
- Strong team player, able to work on their own initiative.
- Must have Bachelors degree in finance, marketing, or related field.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in an analytics and reporting role.
- Must be highly proficient with MS Excel. Experience with Power BI is a plus.
- Must be proficient with Windows productivity tools such as Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Must be able to work and effectively communicate with project teams, interoffice departments and with co-workers.
