We are looking for a QA Specialist II to join our team and support the Flavors business in North America. This position will lead Food Safety and Quality programs at the Sensient Flavors Carpentersville, IL location. This includes leading implementation and on-going program management per FSMA and FDA regulations and compliance to Sensient Flavor's Quality Assurance / Food Safety requirements and other related initiatives. Additionally, this position will lead conducting risked based analysis on all new raw materials for Amboy, IL location. 75% of time will be dedicated at the Amboy, IL facility and the other 25% will be dedicated to the Carpentersville, IL location (subject to change).
What you'll do:
- Lead the integration of the current quality assurance and food safety processes into one integrated process:
- HACCP system, regulatory audits, QSR, SOP's, food safety audits, and standardized work instructions
- Develop and execute to meet all Sensient Flavors requirements related to quality and food safety programs
- Develop and maintain systems to assure compliance to all food safety requirements including Commitment, Document Control and Records, Specifications, Attaining Food Safety, Verification, Product Identification Trace and Recall, Incident Management, & Food Safety & Quality Pre-requisite Programs
- Internal Audit program & External Food Safety Audits as needed
- Conduct training and maintain all pertinent records for critical food safety and quality requirements
- Risked based analysis on all new raw materials
- Collect and review documents from potential suppliers
- Responsible for performing other duties as required by the Quality Assurance Manager
What you'll bring:
- BS/BA Degree preferred or at least 5 years' experience in related food or dairy business
- A comprehensive understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Strong computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
- PCQI Certification preferred
- HACCP Certification from a nationally/internationally recognized and accredited training firm.
- SQF Practitioner Certification preferred; Knowledge of or experience with 3rd Party Certification
- Ability to work with cross-functional departments within the organization
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
