Job Summary:
Oversee the assembly process and certifications of high production wood processing equipment. Develop and improve the assembly process.You will be directly involved in activities with the shop floor employees and engaged in the production processes. You will work under the direction of the engineering manager and the production supervisor.
Job Duties:
- Directly involved in the daily assembly processes and work on the shop floor to assemble complex wood processing machinery.
--Emphasis on machine assembly process/department
--Emphasis on machine certification and testing processes
- Involved in trouble-shooting processes, resolving quality issues, assisting hands-on with machine builds and installation of machines.
--Installation of machines will require out of state travel on occasions, including travel to Canada.
- Evaluates manufacturing processes and implements solutions on how to improve efficiency of these processes and quality of products.
- Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
- Recommend measures to improve manufacturing and repair methods, equipment performance and quality of product to production supervisor and engineering team.
- Recommend design modifications or process changes where justifiable by cost/design studies to permit manufacture by the most favorable method.
- Monitor assigned operations to assure compliance with current project schedule and approved methods of quality standards.
- Monitors parts and supply usage on mechanical equipment.
- Monitors and maintains availability of all tools required for department, suggests specialty tools.
- Functions as the technical expert on mechanical systems and the go-to person for assembly process questions.
- Investigate and assist in corrective/preventative actions for reported concerns.
- Trains personnel and assists the Supervisors in the training and development of technicians.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Interprets engineering drawings, technical papers, and related documentation and implements them into process.
- Follows and supports all safety standards and practices required by State, Customer, and Go Fast.
- Utilizes Go Fast shop floors ERP software (E2) for job travelers, etc
Requirements
- Knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred but not required
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Proficient project and time management skills.
- Have 4+ Years of Manufacturing Experience
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred but not required
- Critical decision-making ability
- Experience with Power Tools
- Basic understanding of Safety procedures

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Compensation is $28.00 - $38.00/hour.
