Your Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will provide daily support for production operations while owning responsibility for providing a safe and ergonomic assembly environment. In addition, you will:
- Support CI200 by identifying opportunities and innovative solutions for safety, ergonomic, quality, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements while leading efforts to systematically identify and eliminate common causes of line disruption including repairs, process overrides, and machine downtime
- Actively support operator certification by ensuring training rigor and evaluating proficiency to engineered standards
- Support development of the department line balance and layout following the Line Balance as a Process and Flow Line Design guidelines

What Skills You Need
- 1 or more years of shop floor engineering experience
- 1 or more years in roles that demonstrated a working knowledge of work instructions, Operator Method Sheets (OMS), assembly manufacturing processes, tooling, and/or equipment
- 1 or more years of demonstrated ability to influence without authority, build relationships and communicate with both salary and wage workforce
- Experience training or mentoring other employees
What Makes You Stand Out
- 1 or more years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
- 1 or more years of experience with precision assembly processes including tapered roller bearing setting, spiral bevel gear adjustment, gauging, and testing
- 1 or more years of experience utilizing 3-D modeling software, specifically Creo/ProE and AutoCAD
- 1 or more years of experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (JDAAT, AMES, SAP-MES)
- 1 or more year of experience with mixed model line design using tools such as Dynamic Line Balancing and Simulation
- 1 or more years of experience working with CI200 in an incentive pay plan environment
- 1 or more years of cross-functional experience in product engineering, industrial engineering, quality engineering, operations, maintenance, tool & fixture design, components manufacturing, factory automation, or other technical fields
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
