Job Summary
Under the limited direction of the Manufacturing Manager, confers with Line Supervisors and Leads and reviews master production schedules, work orders, departmental production schedules, and related information to determine and recommend execution strategy and material requirements. Safely and efficiently execute daily tasks providing administrative and operational support to the Business Unit in the production of Sutures, Adhesives, Needles, Molding and Mesh. Typical tasks include entering and maintenance of data, ordering materials for production, changes to specifications in ADAPTIV / Thing Worx as required and co- ordination of manufacturing resources. Responsible for the shift transition strategy which includes monitoring the schedule and proposing an efficient production code mix to achieve weekly plan adherence targets. Establishes effective communication with various groups such as Production Planning and Logistics, Engineering, Maintenance and management, and plant production departments to ensure the on-time delivery of products and projects. Analyzes production data, provides updates and/or escalation, and prepares reports. Established support individual contributor that executes tasks that are typically routine, with some deviation from standard practice. Provides support for internal teams in the Manufacturing Product & Packaging Operations function. Follows standard operating procedures to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables. Maintains high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment pertaining to areas of technical support of operations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
- Completes tasks for the support function of the Manufacturing Product & Packaging Operations unit, and follows standard operating procedures ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.
- Assists with operational equipment set-up and adjustments for packaging equipment. Helps support the inspection of materials rejected from equipment for defects prior to repackaging.
- Records activities and completes applicable batch documentation to ensure all products are accounted for.
- Assists with non-routine equipment repairs and coordinates with maintenance personnel. Demonstrates Johnson & Johnson’s Leadership Imperatives and Credo.
- Coordinates plant inventory levels which includes ordering the correct quantities, determining the appropriate lead times, tracking the available storage space, and identifying reasons that require inventory adjustments and correcting the cause.
- Performs physical inventory counts.
- Monitors assembly line schedule and releases jobs to floor on a timely basis to maintain efficient production.
- Reviews progress reports concerning status and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment, provides summary and recommendations to management for action.
- Confers with line supervisors and reviews master production schedules, work orders, departmental production schedules, and related information to determine and recommend execution strategy and material requirements for assigned manufacturing lines included as part of project or strategic growth platforms.
- Responsible as Subject Matter Expert from providing feedback and recommendations related to process and quality improvements.
- In absent of Facilitator or Group Leader, provides operational support to assigned manufacturing lines.
- Under manager guidance, assists in the supervision of specific manufacturing lines identified as part of a project or strategic growth platforms, ensuring optimal use of equipment, operational model and materials.
- Manages the effective and efficient utilization of equipment and material resources to optimize performance.
- Immediately reports quality issues, increases in defect rates, and equipment malfunction to the manufacturing supervisor or line engineer, contributing to their resolution.
- Ensures appropriate cleaning and housekeeping of workstations as required by procedures.
- Investigates aging batches and prioritizes flow to meet production needs.
- Confirms line metrics and reports are up to date.
- Load raw materials into CAMSTAR system to ensure accurate inventory consumption.
- Release material and verify accepted material if required.
- Ensure all records are stored and retained per the Records Inventory List (100095458).
- CAMSTAR/ERP Work Order maintenance.
- Complies with all applicable quality management systems, and environmental, safety, and occupational health policies. (For example, ISO 13485, ISO14001 & OSHAS18001).
- Responsible to ensure that expired inventory is removed physically and in the system at the same time, submit RIDs and complete cycle counts out for expired material every week Work in a team environment, demonstrating teamwork in identifying, evaluating, and resolving problems within the department.
- Participate in the plant safety programs.
- Adhere to FDA Quality and Worldwide Quality system.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
- For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent skills, experience, or training
- Generally, Requires 4-6 Years Work Experience
- Requires proven initiative, creativity, assertiveness, and leadership abilities.
- Must be able to work under pressure achieving consistently high results through associate and team efforts.
- Intermediate or higher-level computer skills and use of software application(s).
- Excellent communication skills, mathematical abilities, and reasoning abilities.
- Be able to work independently and in teams.
