Purchasing Coordinator

• Maintains raw materials by securing and analyzing quotations; negotiates price and terms with suppliers and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities; coordinate with R&D concerning design changes and reflecting it to the price; monitoring the inventory levels for all raw materials, accessories and any other items requisitioned through purchasing; by reporting the status of inventory, departmental issues and achievements, current production needs and upcoming production needs to the Manufacturing, Production Control and Purchasing Manager; by maintaining the effective procurement of raw materials, accessories and items necessary to support manufacturing; by analyzing the price proposals for small items or non-critical materials; by monitoring the status of all purchase orders to determine if the flow to operations will be consistent and sufficient; by monitoring the forecast information received from managements and making necessary adjustments of material flow depending on the updated forecast information; by monitoring safety stock situation; by coordinating with quality, engineering and production to test and approve new supplies and materials; by coordinating the disposition of any non-conforming or damages goods with the appropriate departments; by negotiating with scrap dealers to achieve preferred pricing; by coordinating recyclable scrap disposal as necessary; by coordinating new or revised packaging specifications with the Manufacturing and QA for NAMI products; and by assisting in coordinating appropriate packaging for all incoming accessories and materials.

• Purchases raw materials by contacting vendors and suppliers for quotations, by negotiating agreements with major suppliers to achieve maximum preferred pricing; by maintaining a professional demeanor with suppliers; by negotiating charge backs to suppliers for all non-conforming product; by occasionally traveling to handle supplier issues or qualify suppliers' facilities as new sources; by working with suppliers to constantly update and check shipping status of current orders and by reporting all possible changes in shipping status; by being proficient with and maintaining purchasing requirements in the in house computer system; by receiving approval for purchase orders; by monitoring shipments for timely arrival and expediting orders and shipments as necessary; by auditing and confirming pricing for invoice approval and disputing any inaccuracies; by receiving monthly production numbers and forecasts from production in order to work with suppliers to maintain appropriate material quantities; and by negotiating with suppliers/freight forwarders for competitive pricing based on material usage and shipping lanes.

• Generates reports of purchasing demand of critical items; preparing final reports as requested on inventory levels and items on order for all items requisitioned throughout the purchasing department – noting items for concern: i.e. possible overstock, under stock and safety stock by reporting on supplier performance noting all concerns, current issues and opportunities for improved relationships; and by researching the best sources for new or changing programs. Also by monitoring the status of all purchase orders to determine if the flow to operations will be consistent and sufficient; by monitoring the forecast information received from managements and making necessary adjustments of material flow depending on the updated forecast information; by monitoring safety stock situation; by coordinating with quality, engineering and production to test and approve new supplies and materials; by coordinating the disposition of any non-conforming or damages goods with the appropriate departments; and by assisting in coordinating appropriate packaging for all incoming accessories and materials

Pay: $19.00 - $23.31 per hour
