Managing Services Principals at CDW are player-coaches who enjoy teaming up with some of the best Services Principals, Pre-Sales and Delivery Teams in the industry at large, strategic services accounts. We’re looking for high-caliber, well-rounded professionals who are passionate about emerging and mainstream technologies, challenging engagements and client-facing consulting that is both strategic and tactical in nature.  As a Services Principal (Player role), the Managing Services Principal will be assigned 1-2 accounts with a $1-3M annual booked revenue target and a 20% utilization goal.  The Managing Services Principal will also manage 5-8 Services Principals functionally (Coach role). 

Managing Services Principals are team and thought leaders at CDW and apply the necessary professional breadth and depth to drive successful CDW offerings and services to customers. This role will be part of Services Consistency leadership, with focus on the following directives:

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Sales Management of the teams they support and be seen as a trusted advisor to grow business.
  • Provide thought leadership in building and improving CDW service offerings with Sellers to their customers though teamwork and collaborative efforts.
  • Partner with Solution Domain Managers to create and maintain a strategic vision for Field Services Project Management for CDW.
  • Master offerings, tools, and methodologies for solution delivery excellence. 
  • Mentor Services Principals on tools, methodologies, and consultative skills to provide value to our customers.
  • Take a lead role in defining, developing, and supporting proposal and project delivery, prepares the team to be successful through proactive training, sharing knowledge, and communicating best practices.

The primary purpose for this position is to manage delivery-related activities for services engagements and implementations across multiple practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring achievement of all delivery-related performance objectives, utilization targets, revenue targets, and other key metrics. This role also participates in uncovering other CDW revenue/business opportunities within the accounts assigned.

  • Support employee engagement initiatives within CDW.

As a Player:

  • Employ a holistic view of the client and develop long-term strategic account plans utilizing CDW offerings, tools, and methods.
  • Lead the identification and qualification of client opportunities to expand our footprint with the client(s).
  • Stay informed of the client's ongoing market performance and business objectives.
  • Apply an understanding of engagement economics and how CDW makes money to the pricing and staffing of engagements.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews with CDW and client(s) leadership.
  • Oversee, and when necessary, direct delivery projects, including CDW delivery team members, alliance partners, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all delivery teams achieve established performance targets.
  • Ensure services solutions are delivered to clients on time, within budget, and meet all quality, design, and contractual specifications.
  • Ensure appropriate margin targets are established, project scope is well defined, and project risk is acceptable.
  • Work directly with the client to drive the closure of critical issues to sustain high client satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with the staffing function to obtain the right resources for projects.
  • Work with assigned 1-2 accounts to attain $1-3M annual booked revenue target.
  • Achieve a 20% billable utilization target through Delivery work on projects at assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with sales team(s) in closing other CDW business.
  • Use broad IT knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of new offerings and client solutions.
  • Author or approve all SOWs and projected financial outcomes.
  • Comply with time compliance and time entry guidelines. 

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or a related field.
  • At least ten (10) years of Consulting and Project Management experience with large enterprise cross-brand projects, including at least five (5) years firsthand experience with one or more technologies implemented from CDW service offerings.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of clients and CDW team members, including management, sales and technical staff.
  • Experience leading advanced and complex technology projects in support of business initiatives.
  • Client leadership and engagement skills; able to balance delivering, managing the internal financials, client expectations and selling new work over the long term (years vs. months).
  • Understand clients’ business challenges, build trusted advisor relationships, and lead business and strategy discussions with clients, influencing client decisions.
  • Ability to engage in difficult conversations with project teams and clients on issues, risks and escalations, up to and including executive conversations.
  • Develop longer-range project plans and schedules to complete complex projects or new solution/product development.
  • Ability to transfer technical skills/knowledge to client, multitask and to prioritize workload under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and follow-up skills. Leadership, delegation, coaching, mentoring, personnel management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to work in a team environment.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field, a plus.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. PMP, CSM, Agile-PM, CISM, etc.) a plus
  • Consulting experience with Fortune 500 clients and experience providing advisory consulting services a plus
  • Ability to structure, organize and lead a team plus recruit, hire and retain technical talent.
