Job Description
The Manager, US Merchant Business Development will be a key member of the team which grows Visa revenue by increasing the number of strategic merchants with which Visa has a direct relationship. This team works across all 6 Industry Verticals of US Merchant.
This position is a great opportunity for someone with strong analytical and/or operational engineering skills who wants to grow into a front-line client facing sales position or further practice existing selling skills.
Essential Functions:
The Manager will own or partner in:
Driving the execution and further enhancement of the Light Touch Account Management process, which keeps a Visa ‘face’ in front of a growing long list of contacts at prioritized strategic merchants
Play the Role of the AE on a manageable list of prospects where YOU are the face of Visa, from building your own pipeline to closing the sale (supported & coached throughout the journey)
Provide feedback and support as needed for the targeting & AANR prioritization process, which defines prospects with the highest value of chasing
Partner with the Inside Sales team to further increase the number of relationships, active contacts and most importantly sales engagements
Provide feedback or pick up a pen to craft attention grabbing merchant-facing value propositions to win meetings with contacts at targeted prospects
Partner with external Product partners and Enablers to both create/enhance value propositions and engage jointly on direct client selling engagements
Partner with the GSEA team to further enhance or correct the sales tools which all of NA Merchant uses to engage with clients
Actively plan in time to engage in Employee Engagement, ERG or other Visa & MS&A culture supporting activities (as desired)
Lead or actively participate various ad-hoc internal projects as worthy
Participate in optional and required training (sales, compliance, development, etc.)
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
** Basic Qualifications:**
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- High interest in sales as a profession
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong data analytics skills and spreadsheet management skills
- Ability to create & give effective presentations, and drive effective influencing conversations with or without a deck
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- A passion for collaboration with internal teams and external product partners
- Highly driven, resourceful, results oriented and confident in your strategic thinking skills
Additional Information
** Work Hours:** Varies upon the needs of the department.
** Travel Requirements:** This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
** Mental/Physical Requirements:** This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 132,300.00 to 172,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
