- Monitor safety reporting analysis, systems and tools, and drive continuous improvement program with metrics.
- Direct training for inspection, management, safety, calibration, laboratory and internal programs.
- Maintain safety, training and quality statistics and definitions, analyze trends and facilitate exception reporting.
- Promote good safety practices and sound safety behavior across the organization, to comply with local country standards and legislation.
- Work with management to develop, formulate, standardize and assure implementation of all the company's safety policies, training requirements and quality standards and procedures in keeping with best practice and to meet the company's goals.
- Work jointly and collaboratively with operations to improve operational efficiencies and reduce health and safety, training and quality related costs.
- Direct the continual assessment of risk potential of hazards for laboratory and field operation protocols.
- Ensure strict adherence to API, ASTM, EI and other applicable industry recognized standards in addition to the Saybolt Global Safety and Global Inspection manuals.
Compliance and Audit
- Serve as the Company point of contact with external customers and their associated auditors related to compliance audits.
- Coordinate customer safety audits and surveys such as ISNetworld.
- Participate in or initiate international safety audits employed by the company and submit written reports.
- Coordinate with divisional staff to conduct on-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, committee members and institutional staff to formulate corrective actions.
- Work with division safety managers to enforce compliance with all OSHA, EPA, DOT or local country regulations pertaining to company operations while maintaining awareness of OSHA, EPA, DOT or local country amendments and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Work with location safety coordinators/location managers/regional managers and human resources regarding job injuries to ensure appropriate return to work and the prompt settlement of claims.

- College degree preferred or 4 years HSE experience in lieu of degree plus a minimum of 5 years working experience in the independent petroleum inspection, laboratory and calibration industry.
- Thorough knowledge and experience with Global HSE-management in multinational organization/business.
- Training in safety and environmental as well as ISO quality management.
- Solid international experience, preferably with some exposure to developing countries.
- Experience in operational and/or safety management as well as experience in a head office / policy role.
- Energetic, able to act as an authority in the field. Leadership skills, able to communicate and convince on a management level.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel worldwide significantly.
