Position Summary:
Sr. Manager of Fire & Life Safety for ADT Commercial's National Fire & Life Safety Team (NFLST) will be responsible for the business development and growth Fire Alarm and Life Safety throughout National Accounts and the company. This role is a managerial role to grow the business both within the current client base as well as new clients. This will also include the preparation of conceptual layouts, estimates and proposals for fire alarm and test and inspect contracts to support sales representatives on a technical basis to do the same. The Sr. Manager of Fire & Life Safety will support the sale of products, services, and solutions. This person will be responsible for developing and deploying training programs for sales, design and field personnel. The Sr. Manager of Fire & Life Safety provides expertise and resources regarding design, code compliance, installation, commissioning, testing and inspections, and service offerings. This person will also be responsible for managing existing relationships with National Accounts and End Users and developing new ones. Responsibilities will also include providing seminars and training events to AHJs (Authority Having Jurisdiction), Architects and Engineers.
How you will do it:
  • Provide technical support on products to NAMs, AVPs and District GM's so that the solutions are built correctly from a product and technical perspective.
  • Provide industry codes & standards support to local and National.
  • Assist in delivering solutions to ADTC current and prospective clients by attending meetings, virtually and in-person, to obtain information, build client relationships, to present proposals, and when the client relationship requires it with regards to Fire & Life Safety Systems.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for all things fire alarm from National Accounts.
  • Market Coverage: understand our district capabilities and work with district GMs for alignment of offerings; assess when subcontractors need to be engaged and assist in that effort; product-specific and service offerings that specifically align with Fire & Life Safety goals to increase market share by supporting sales.
  • NA & District Relationship: work collaboratively with the NAMs, GMs & salespeople to influence key revenue opportunities with our clients.
  • Client Relationships: Work together with salespeople to influence and provide client value. Gain client acceptance by explaining ADT Commercial's value propositions. Leverage knowledge of industry challenges and opportunities to build trust and respect with clients.
  • Reporting: Provide timely and accurate weekly status updates to the NFLST's Vice President as to ongoing, completed and upcoming tasks.

Qualifications - External
Minimum Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in project management
  • 10 years of experience in technical role.
  • NICET Level II, minimum - Fire Alarm Systems
  • Certifications in:

  • Farenhyt - Honeywell
  • Potter
  • Fire-Lite
  • Silent Knight
  • Simplex

  • Ability to deliver results while working in a highly independent, fast-paced and demanding team environment.
  • Proficient at uncovering key issues and providing insightful, actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, internal team members and leadership.
  • Able to read and interpret construction-related documentations (i.e. construction plans, specifications, product literature).
  • Ability to understand and leverage technology.
  • Solid presentation skills: ability to prepare PowerPoint, and other, presentations for both internal and external presentations.
