Here's what the job would look like:
As the Manager of People and Culture, you would set the foundation of this new position for our organization. You would implement and carry out a plan for statewide and national recruitment, implement retention incentives and implement a sustained DEI policy and plan. You would be responsible for the daily administration of various salary, benefit, government, and employee relations programs and motivation of employees while promoting a safe, fair, and positive work environment.
You will help sustain and build on our current positive and healthy organizational culture and support our mission to build Voices Together into the preeminent Music Therapy program in North Carolina and beyond.
Here are your job responsibilities:
- Present and implement a recruitment, retention and DEI plan for the organization
- Manage all recruiting, screening, and interviewing to ensure quality hires and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Manage employee relations and engagement with an emphasis on employee retention by promoting a positive and rewarding work environment.
- Initiate an interactive relationship with all employees.
- Encouraging and maintaining a team environment and Culture, supporting wellness, growth, achievement, and job satisfaction.
- Advocate an Open Door Policy by assisting in the counseling and/or conflict resolution for employees as needed, through clear, calm, thoughtful, and direct oral and written communication.
- As a member of the organization's leadership team, to identify employment and benefit trends and proactively propose and lead programs to address these trends; coach staff at all levels within the organization in behavioral, cultural, and performance issues; and identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.
- Ensure processes of recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, development and performance management, staff relations, benefits management, and compensation strategies are executed accurately and effectively.
- Able to maintain the culture and belonging in a hybrid work environment.
Qualifications:
- 5+ (or more) years experience in Human Resource/People and Culture Management
- Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field.
- SHRM or PHR certified.
- Experienced Recruiter that developed methods to meet the unique needs of their organization.
- Experience with Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion strategies and efforts.
- Previous experience working with nonprofit organizations is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to provide excellence with recruiting, retention, compensation, and employee relations. Demonstrated self-awareness, empathy, and a people-centric approach.
- Flexible, resilient, and able to work and thrive in a small organization that will require exceptional teamwork, initiative and the need to wear multiple hats.
