WHAT YOU’LL DO
At TJX, the mission of the Global Finance Technology Organization is to develop, sustain, and enhance modern financial solutions that drive informed financial operations, analysis, insights, and decisions that enable TJX financial stability and accelerate company growth. We are embarking on a multiyear journey to modernize and enhance over 60 applications in our portfolio across Record-to-Report and Procure-to-Pay value streams to deliver more value for our global business partners.
We are looking for a Manager of Engineering who will be accountable for the overall technical management, engineering health, and engineering talent management for the Global Finance Technology Organization. This leader of leaders is expected to be well versed in DevSecOps and agile best practices, familiar with modern cloud-based solutions in the Finance domain area, and evangelize an engineering mindset within the team to maximize business value. Your focus on coaching, mentoring, developing, and growing engineering talent on the team will bring our organization to new heights.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and lead multiple engineering teams spanning the Finance technology portfolio, at varying level of seniority
Coaches, leads, and develops engineering talent, as a thought leader of the organization
Champions IT-driven initiatives amongst IT leadership to enable alignment to a technical roadmap or strategy
Represents the product team as a leader of the Engineering Community of Practice
Partners with stakeholders to drive technical solutions that meet business needs
Ensures mechanisms for technical oversight are in place
Ensures best engineering practices are followed/adopted for operational excellence
Partners with stakeholders to ensure roadmaps & strategies align to architectural standards
Contributes to high level architecture to drive engineering & operational excellence
Adapt at delivering scalable, reliable, highly available and secure sotuions
Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD processes and tools
Accountable for product health and delivering on engineering operational targets
First point of contact for strategic requests from a technology perspective
Acts as an escalation point for issues related to delivery of technical components
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work up and down within the organization to influence others and achieve results
Direct report responsibility to manage engineering managers and other individual contributors within the engineering organization
WHAT YOU’LL NEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent engineering skillset, training, or technical work experience
10+ years of experience, with at least 3+ years of leading and developing teams as a manager
At least 3+ years of experience in the Finance application domain
Experience as a technical lead on large full lifecycle implementations of SaaS and on-prem applications
Experience in agile methodology
Technical leader with extensive business facing experience, taking ideas from conception to implementation
Deep knowledge of ERP systems and their implementations
Experience with source code control and continuous integration tools
Problem solving and critical thinking skills to solve complex business problems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Oracle EBS, Vertex, ReconNet, C2FO, OneSource, OneStream, IBM Planning Analytics, Itamlink, Lucernex, or other key financial applications
Knowledge of Java, .NET Framework, ERP applications
Knowledge of middleware such as Dell Boomi, MuleSoft
Cloud experience (Azure, AWS)
Experience with source control management (e.g. Git) and Continuous Integration Tools (e.g. Jenkins)
