Job description

Gritstone bio is a public, next-generation personalized cancer and infectious immunotherapy company. Gritstone brings together distinguished scientific founders, an experienced and diverse management team, a seasoned and successful board of directors and deep financial backing to tackle fundamental challenges at the intersection of cancer genomics, immunology, and immunotherapy design. The company's goal is to identify and deploy neoantigens for novel treatments of cancer and infectious diseases. In addition to neoantigen therapy development, Gritstone is leveraging its unique antigen discovery platform to define targets for shared antigen immunotherapies, which would provide an opportunity to treat even more patients.

Position Summary
The Senior IT Support Engineer role will be responsible for providing support for daily operations across Gritstone sites. This position calls for outstanding technical and communication skills and the ability to develop, maintain, configure, and install hardware, software, services, and procedures. Work with 3rd party vendors. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced growing company. The role is high visibility and customer touch, so an upbeat, positive attitude and a passion for delivering first-in-class IT services are essential to success.
Responsibilities
  • Build, support, and troubleshoot MacOS and Windows 10/11.
  • Manage the JAMF Pro management platform
  • Maintain service packs & service packs for enterprise applications, including QC, testing, and verification on all supported Mac clients
  • Manage, configure, and deploy software, packages and upgrades to endpoints.
  • Support lab hardware, such as maintenance, upgrades, and swaps of computers, instruments, and scientific software.
  • Support and troubleshoot company-provided smartphones and tablets utilizing AirWatch mobile device management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network, WiFi, and VPN connectivity issues.
  • Support and troubleshoot printers and multifunction devices within the company, ensuring they function optimally.
  • Responsible for user onboarding and off-boarding.
  • Administer and support Office 365 applications and services, including but not limited to Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Support and administer authentication and identity management services, i.e., Active Directory, Okta, SAML, SSO.
  • Assist users with managing documents in various storage platforms, cloud(Box, OneDrive, etc.) and local file services, DFS, Fileshares, etc.
  • Remotely support users by using screen-sharing tools such as BeyondTrust by Bomgar.
  • Participate in IT projects, aiding in the strategic deployment of new systems and technologies to advance organizational goals.
  • Support video conferencing systems and equipment, ensuring reliable connectivity and quality for meetings and collaborative projects.
  • Educate staff through training sessions on the effective use of IT systems, enhancing company-wide technological competence and security awareness.
  • Document, track, and monitor all service desk requests and ensure resolution in a timely & efficient manner, ensuring minimal recurrence of the problem.
  • Develop, author, and update technical documentation, crafting detailed training guides and knowledge base articles.
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of all IT assets.
Minimum Education/Experience:
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience.
  • JAMF Pro Certification 100-400 a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Candidate has demonstrated expertise in MacOS, Windows 10/11, Office 365, Okta, MS 365 suite, and video conferencing systems.
  • A strong understanding of endpoint management platforms and services, such as Microsoft Active Directory, Entra Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and Autopilot.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Services such as DNS, DHCP, and file & print services.
  • Experience administering enterprise-grade AV (Defender, CrowdStrike)
  • Experience working with enterprise Mobile Device Management technologies such as AirWatch.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on clear, concise technical documentation and customer service.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Gritstone bio anticipates that the hourly rate for the Senior IT Support Engineer (Contract) position could range between $51.00/hour - $81.60/hour. Pay rates will depend, in part, on the successful candidate's credentials for the role, including education, qualifications, and type as well as length of experience. Any offered salary is also based on internal equity, internal position salary ranges, and market data. Gritstone is a multistate employer and the salary offered will be market competitive. At Gritstone, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
