```Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled R&D Engineer to join our team. As an R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the advancement of our company.
Responsibilities:
- 8 month assignment likely to be extended or converted based on the performance and budget.
- 100% onsite opportunity. Only on W2.
- This position will entail creating/updating the non-product software tools and improving/maintaining automation testing tools for testing medical device software and firmware.
- Responsible for providing engineering support in the creation and the development of new medical device products (invasive and non-invasive).
- The engineer is responsible for coding, designing, and debugging development tools. Also help the software/firmware testing, validation and verification activities.
- Proficiency with Python and MATLAB.
- A good understanding of multi-process architecture and the threading limitations.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail on the work.
- Excellent organization and documentation skills.
- Create documentation following the process guidance and templates.
- Ability to collaborate on projects and work independently when required.
- Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
- Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
- Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.
- Directs support personnel and coordinates project activities.
- Write and submit intellectual property (patents).
- Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
- Investigates and evaluates existing technologies.
- Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development.
- Write and submit professional articles for technical journals.
- Research various cost-effective, alternative approaches to current processes.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in computer science, computer engineering, biomedical engineering or related field.
- Some experience in medical device industry will be preferred
