Job Summary:
THE TEAM
The Marketplace Strategy & Operations team (also referred to as Category Management) owns and drives the revenue performance across the professional and college sports, arts/theatre, and concerts Marketplace (B2C) categories. The team is responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies, optimizing critical business levers, driving high-impact initiatives, and tracking overall performance for owned categories with the goal of driving market share growth and millions of dollars in incremental ticket sales.
THE JOB
The Manager will report to the Senior Manager, Category Management and will be responsible for supporting strategic planning, initiative execution, and performance reporting for the 3rd Party Events (events/venues/teams not contracted with Ticketmaster) and MLB categories. In addition, this role will require the candidate to interpret data, help build and execute growth plans for outlined initiatives and lead projects from ideation to execution to drive revenue and profit. This individual will gain a detailed understanding of business initiatives and implications across live event genres, execute critical analyses, work cross-functionally, recommend business-building activities, and communicate those results. The ideal candidate will be analytically driven with strong problem-solving skills, a high business acumen, and the ability to work with and influence a variety of individuals and internal teams.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Be a subject matter expert for the 3rd Party Events and MLB marketplace categories at Ticketmaster. This includes understanding the key drivers of supply/demand, understanding the nuances and organizational processes that are unique to your categories, understanding the fan profile, and mastering category level data.
  • Build, track, and monitor category performance dashboards, updates, and KPI's to continuously share results with leadership, identify and rectify performance issues, and identify new opportunities
  • Conduct rigorous, fact-based analysis that result in actionable recommendations and impactful results. Craft stories/presentations bases on that analysis to communicate findings and influence a wide array of stakeholder groups

  • Continuously evaluate internal processes to identify improvements that will reduce the business's cost to serve and identify opportunities to grow and scale the business. Partner with key stakeholder groups (operations, product, engineering, customer service) to build plans around the top priority improvements/opportunities and work to execute.
  • Develop, contextualize, and structure day-to-day business opportunities with varying levels of complexity. Drive insights and clear next steps from output.
  • Keep a pulse on the overall industry, competitive dynamics, tech & e-commerce trends to inform strategic choices

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, economics, engineering, or finance
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a consulting, strategy, or comparable analytics-heavy environment. Experience in e-commerce, technology, or entertainment/media is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading multiple projects with demanding deadlines, changing/ambiguous requirements, and cross-functional interaction

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using Excel and building PowerPoint presentations for both internal and external audiences at multiple organizational levels.
  • Experience synthesizing large data sets for actionable insights. Familiarity with SQL, Access or other big data software and data visualization software such as Tableau or DOMO is a plus
  • Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to understand the economic drivers behind a variety of business models
  • Demonstrated success in verbal and written communication with expertise in adjusting approach based on audience or setting
  • Ability to be a decisive project leader, with the drive to push a project forward, draw key insights from analysis, and determine recommendations and next steps

  • Desire to help create a fun, productive, and inclusive culture
  • Knowledge of, or an interest in, the MLB and live events is a plus
