About Astellas Rx+ Business Accelerator
The Rx+ Business Accelerator develops novel, non-drug, medical solutions with the objective of generating independent revenue from such new programs/businesses. Establishing a profitable Rx+ Business is one of four strategic goals of Astellas' corporate mid-term plan.
Rx+ programs/businesses leverage the deep healthcare expertise and knowledge of Astellas, which has been cultivated through its pharmaceutical business, integrate innovative medical technology and cutting-edge innovations from different fields, improve the patient experience across the patient journey (i.e., diagnostic, preventive, therapeutic and prognostic care) and create new revenue streams separate from our core Rx products. https://www.astellas.com/en/science/rx-plus
Establishing successful Rx+ programs require building new businesses that leverage the strength of the pharmaceutical business while benefiting from collaboration with external partners in other industries (e.g., Digital Health, Digital Therapeutics, Medical Device, Remote Patient Monitoring, etc.)
Purpose and Scope
Commercial Group of Rx+ Business Accelerator is responsible for co-leading Rx+ programs with the program managers especially in view from commercialization of such new Rx+ program. These processes include Commercial and Go-To-Market strategy development, financial forecasting, rolling and cyclic testing to confirm business feasibility for the new endeavor, and also devising and setting up appropriate commercial infrastructure.
This position is directly reporting to Global Commercial Head, Rx+ Business Accelerator. This position will have responsibilities across Rx+ programs and across Commercial Group, Commercial function, and Rx+ Division.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Planning towards commercialization, including strategy development, operational design and implementation, and partnerships development for programs and projects at different stages and broadly for commercial function
- Commercial function optimization, including review, design and execution on improvements, creation and implementation of standardized processes and procedures and ways of working, identification of knowledge and skills gaps and helping address them
- Oversight of strategic initiatives from planning through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership and departmental heads
- Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
- Serve as liaison between internal multifunctional departments and external vendors regarding project updates, initiatives, and planning
- Build and develop relationships with colleagues for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations, and help to define new operational strategies
- Build, support and drive culture of the Rx+ commercial group and the division

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or similar field
- 5+ years in a business or management role
- 2+ years in pharmaceutical / healthcare consulting role
- Knowledge of pharma / healthcare / medtech space
- Proven experience in drafting commercial/GTM strategy
- Operational optimization experience
- Extremely versatile, strategic thinker, dedicated to efficient productivity
- Financial acumen, including financial modeling and forecasting
- Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
- Ability to operate tactically, team player and self-starter
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent communicator
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or masters in the fields relevant
- Payor / market access expertise
- Digital health or medtech startup experience with a focus on commercial operations
- Enterprise operational experience and operational optimization experience
- Proven success in a project coordination role
- Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions
- Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
- Experience contributing to shaping the culture of an organization
