POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the daily operations of the Management Company of a Private Equity firm. This position requires a broad understanding of basic accounting principles and excellent communication skills. The candidate will assist in organizing, administering, and reporting on a variety of functions. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and detail oriented team player with strong organizational skills, a professional and discreet demeanor, and a flexible approach to learning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Receivable
- Assist in preparation of ad hoc out of pocket expense requests from deal team
- Identify and review transaction fees received; prepare revenue allocations by entity and generate corresponding entry in NetSuite
- Assist in generating invoices from Net Suite
- Assist in preparation of quarterly invoices to employees for personal spend reimbursement
- Assist in preparation of quarterly invoices to Funds for reimbursement
Revenue and Expense Reporting
- Assist in preparation of periodic variance and trending analysis for revenue and expense accounts
- Assist in preparation of monthly account reconciliations for accurate and timely reporting
- Support broader team by addressing ad hoc requests from the fund accounting and deal teams related to management and transaction fees
- Support both Management Company and Compliance teams by updating and maintaining internal Expense Matrix
General Administration
- Scanning statements and documents into the team's archives
- Preparing, sending, and receiving mailings/packages
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- An excellent GPA and a major in a financial discipline, preferably accounting, or significant financial coursework.
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
- Work effectively on a team and understand role in delivering on the team's goals/priorities
- Manage own schedule and prioritizes around assigned workload to meet deadlines; be productive and function well under stress; and escalate issues as appropriate
- Have a strong attention to detail and take accountability for the quality of work product
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to company information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft products, specifically Excel
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite and Concur, a plus
LOCATION: Boston, MA. This position is in the office 3 days/week. These in-office requirements may be adjusted based on the needs of the business.
