Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. As a Maintenance Person, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. This is a full-time position that requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work independently.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as inspecting and repairing equipment, machinery, and systems
- Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, etc., Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, etc.,
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment
· Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
· Install appliances and equipment.
· Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc.
· Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation). Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
· Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations.
· Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues.
· Maintain the facility clean throughout the building including but not limited to offices, administration, public restrooms, staff restrooms, staff lounge, thrift store, storage areas, food storage area, outside parking lot, back of the building, etc.
· Emptying all trash cans throughout the facility, as well as removing and maintain the recyclable trash and bottles.
· Vacuums, shampoos, and spot cleans carpets and furniture, wash windows.
· Maintain the restrooms with appropriate supplies, toilet paper, hand towels, etc.
· When needed to assist with donations: handle all items with care. When handling furniture, glass, or any other fragile item, use blankets or towels to prevent scratching, denting, or breaking.
· Must wear safety gear and gloves to ensure safety, Sorting food when necessary.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Fabricate and weld components as needed for repairs or modifications
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management
- Collaborate with other team members to complete larger projects or renovations
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
- Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to read schematics and blueprints
- Proficiency in welding, electrical work, and working with logic controllers
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Customer service-oriented mindset
