POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of your job position is to assist with the overall operation of the maintenance department which includes tasks related to equipment and facility system repairs as well as minor renovation work and to ensure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide equipment and building maintenance services as required.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations for equipment and system repairs as necessary.
- Perform services related to the Sherrill House equipment and utilities system preventative maintenance program.
- Assist with conducting environmental rounds and complete maintenance related tasks associated with the rounds.
- Participate in facility safety surveys/inspections made by insurance companies and authorized state/federal agencies.
- Follow up on corrective actions related to deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide written copy of such to the department director.
- Serve on various committees of the facility (i.e. safety, QA, etc.) as directed and provide written/oral reports as required.
- Provide coverage for various facility wide functions as directed and required.
- Maintain a productive working relationship with other department personnel and coordinate maintenance services to minimize interruptions.
- Make daily rounds to assure that all essential equipment and systems are operating as required and report deficiencies and problems to the department director.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
- Participate in in-service training classes, on the job training and orientation programs for maintenance personnel.
- Ensure that supplies, equipment, etc., are maintained to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
- Ensure that containers of hazardous chemicals in the department are properly labeled and stored and that all MSDS sheets are easily located.
- Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to assure that a sanitary environment is maintained at all times.
- Recommend the equipment and supply needs of the department.
- Check all maintenance tools and equipment prior to use to ensure their safe operation.
- Maintain maintenance equipment, supply inventories and work history records.
- Ensure that all personnel performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or hazardous chemicals participate in appropriate in-service training programs prior to performing such tasks.
- Ensure that maintenance policies and procedures identify appropriate safety precautions and equipment to use when performing tasks that could result in bodily injury.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information and ensure that residents personal and property rights are followed by maintenance personnel at all times.
Educational Requirements: High school diploma and some experience in general maintenance preferred.
Other Requirements: HVAC experience preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
