Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker performs a wide range of duties in support of the overall preventative maintenance and repair of all school buildings and grounds.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Facilities Director, the Maintenance Workers primary responsibility is the repair and maintenance of all non-MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) building systems, such as floor and wall repairs, door hardware/lock repairs and general carpentry work. Work is performed in compliance with construction industry standards and the state building code and is checked in progress or upon completion to ensure it complies with accepted standards and codes. The incumbent performs assigned tasks without close supervision, following established procedures, and is given direct and detailed instructions on new and different assignments. The incumbent will also be expected to work closely with the Plumber and Electrician on staff, having a general knowledge of the tools and materials involved in these trades.
Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm
The work schedule requires some early morning, night, weekend, stand by and emergency work, including snowplowing/snow removal.
