Primary Responsibilities
- Create fun and interactive learning experiences. Manage and provide opportunities for scholars to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives.
- Promote the social, physical, social-emotional, and intellectual growth of the children in your care.
- Instruct the assistant teacher on classroom management and curriculum implementation, plus follow all licensing guidelines and HFCC standards to ensure a safe environment for every child.
- Communicate and build relationships with enrolled and prospective families to promote achievement for the child and to support your center’s success.
- Responsible for the supervision and daily classroom functions of a group of children.
- Adhere to regulations of the Department of Human Services and HFCC policies and procedures.
- Accept all responsibilities for cleanliness of the classroom and common areas of the center.
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers and management team.
- Promote a positive work environment.
- Maintain professional personal appearance, personnel file and professional development plan, adhering to the guidelines with HFCC Employee Handbook.
- Attend required staff meetings and complete necessary training.
- Assists in other capacities as needed by the Director or Assistant Director.
- Maintain ongoing, open communications with parents/caregivers, and lead teacher
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely agency records.
- Complete weekly planning with the Lead Teacher.
- Work with the lead teacher to develop and implement weekly, age-appropriate lesson plans to nurture and stimulate all domains of children's development.
- Work with the assistant teacher to provide a developmentally appropriate, inviting classroom environment that supports the goals of the program.
- Plan, evaluate, and improve the physical environment in the classroom with the lead teacher to create opportunities to meet the changing needs of the developing child.
- Change diapers/pull-ups as needed and assist with toilet training once age appropriate

Desired Skills and Experience:
- Teaching: 2 year (Required)
- Childcare: 2 year (Required)
- High School Diploma (Required)
- Associates or BA in Early Childhood/Education or Human Services Field (Preferred) coupled with life experience equivalent
- Two years of documented experience working with children specifically toddlers.
- Ability to obtain all childcare clearances and additional information for childcare compliance.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds in connection with handling children for child safety and emergency situations.
- Friendly, nurturing and professional demeanor. Ability to conform to a schedule with reliability and dependability.
- Meets minimum preparation and experience required for certification as an Early Childhood Education Teacher. Complies with all state education and licensing standards, and maintains validation of credentials for the position (i.e. professional development).
- Previous experience as an Early Childhood Education Teacher, in a licensed preschool or early development center.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Pediatric First Aid/CPR Certification (Preferred)
- Updated ClearancesFBI Fingerprints Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, NSOR, or willing to attain.
License/Certification:
