Embark on a fulfilling career as a Supervisor of Maintenance at Tyson Foods, a leader in the food industry. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in overseeing all aspects of plant maintenance coordination, leading a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to implement Tyson's maintenance policies and procedures, creating a safe and pristine working environment. Your focus will extend to managing preventive maintenance, swiftly addressing equipment issues to minimize production downtime. Your proficiency in Tyson's SQF Quality Management policies, GMP practices, and commitment to safety will be instrumental in guiding our maintenance team to excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and direct a team of up to 15 maintenance technicians, providing guidance, evaluation, and training to build a skilled workforce.
- Drive the reduction of machine downtime through proactive monitoring and measurement.
- Diagnose and address basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and electronic (PLC) issues, either independently or by directing and assisting with repairs.
- Cultivate a 'Safety First' culture among the staff, ensuring adherence to Tyson's policies and procedures.
- Develop and sustain an effective preventive maintenance program for both equipment and the overall plant.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated ability and at least 3 years of experience in leading, directing, evaluating, and training a maintenance team.
- Proven track record in reducing machine downtime and troubleshooting various technical issues.
- Proficient in diagnosing basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and electronic (PLC) problems.
- Strong commitment to promoting and maintaining a safety-focused culture.
- Experience in developing and managing an effective preventive maintenance program.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Clear verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to articulate ideas effectively.
- Strong written communication skills to express concepts clearly.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Basic understanding of PLCs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook (experience a plus).
POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Weekend work may be required.
