ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible of all mechanical maintenance activities at the plant. A team of
technicians report to the Maintenance Supervisor. They are also responsible for ensuring maintenance work is
completed is a safe, efficient and timely manner and in compliance with environmental requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Organize, schedule, and oversee daily preventive/repair maintenance activities.
- Supervise, train, and develop mechanical maintenance staff to achieve the department goals in a manner to create employee ownership; create bench strength and succession plans.
- Complete records, forms, and other paperwork associated with maintenance activities: including SAP time entry, notifications, orders, etc.
- Evaluate and resolve problems affecting overall equipment efficiency.
- Recommend, initiate and approve requisitions, PM orders and other associated SAP transactions to obtain required contractor services, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist in preparing recommendations for capital expenditures.
- Interface with procurement to ensure that all supplies, parts, and materials are available when required.
- Assist in preparing annual maintenance budget and staying within that budget.
- Ensure that employees observe safe work practices and perform work assignments within MSHA and
company safety guidelines. - Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained.
- Coordinate maintenance work with other departments to enhance overall equipment efficiency and maximum production.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Associate's degree or years of equivalent experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills coupled with good negotiation, planning, scheduling, and people management ability.
- The ability to recognize production problems and the experience to solve those problems. Good knowledge of Sand and Aggregate Mining and related Raw Materials Plant Production and the ability to motivate departmental personnel to meet production goals while maintaining the integrity of the safety program. Understanding computer will be helpful.
- Needs to have a good working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulic systems, water systems, pumps, motors, conveyors, and air systems. Must be a decision-maker who constantly incorporates common business sense into the decision-making process.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
