Job Description
As the Maintenance Planner you will:
- Plan maintenance activities that support Production and associated areas.
- Conduct regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources.
- Ensure that all internal beneficiaries of Maintenance receive timely, efficient, and quality service
- Help Operations balance their need for daily output with their need for equipment reliability through proactive maintenance.
- Have familiarity with the CMMS system and how it works within the plant.
- Use software needed for creating Visual Work Instructions, job plans, estimating jobs, and maintaining the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Create and maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks list for each asset to ensure optimal machine uptime and performance
- Maintain materials and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Create recommended critical spare parts lists and stocking quantities for Maintenance Parts
- Work with the plant operations team, production schedulers, and maintenance supervisors to schedule all maintenance work for the department based on established priorities and craftsperson availability.
- Effectively lead daily and weekly PM scheduling meetings.
- Work with vendors and contractors, in the performance of assigned duties.
- Coordinate all outside services such as forklift repair, AC repair, etc.
- Verify work order inventory, collect parts needed for work order completion, and pre-stage parts for work orders (job packages) in the staging area.
To be successful in the role you must possess:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Undergraduate degree desired
- OSHA Powered Industrial equipment training and pass associated tests, if required
- 1 year of experience in a complex manufacturing environment
- 1 year of experience in purchasing or similar duties
- 1 year of experience in interacting with customers / Customer service
- Forklift certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment, if required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Influential leadership, decision-making, and the ability to efficiently manage people and production needs
- Business-minded, people and results-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.
- Self-starter, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
- Working knowledge of computer software tools including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Maintenance background with exposure to a wide variety of maintenance areas
- Capable of working with vendors and holding them accountable for high levels of service
- Willing to work various hours and days as necessary to support the plant
- Ability to read and interpret equipment and plant prints, and mechanical and electrical drawings
