Maintenance Planner
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning preventative and predictive maintenance and scheduling maintenance in a way that minimizes equipment downtime and impacts the company's operations.
Roles: (General role overview)
• Managing Work Order Status.
• Equipment Management: responsible for ensuring materials, tools and equipment are ready and available for the work as scheduled.
• Planning Preventive Maintenance: responsible for ensuring all PMs are scheduled, performed.
• Corrective Workers: responsible for ensuring corrective work orders are scheduled.
Responsibilities: (All job functions)
• Provide leadership in assuring all requirements of the routine maintenance work process are utilized consistently and effectively to continuously improve the process and ensure goals are met.
• Interface daily with production and maintenance department personnel to review work orders for maintenance services. Review and provide input on definition, accuracy, and priority.
• Develop the scope of each work order.
. Procure all required material, outside contract services, rental equipment, and specialized tools to include emphasis on all the requirements of company specifications, HESS and PSM programs.
• Track area planning backlog & work orders ensuring data is current & accurate.
• Evaluate non-resident contractor performance, including quality & safety performance.
• Assist engineers with terminal projects, technical details, & specifications. Make recommendations on projects such as timeline, labor requirements, work scope, & material.
• Follow the Management of Change Process to document & implement terminal PSM changes.
• Provide planning and supervisory support for outages.
• Provide off-hour support for maintenance issues, material, or service, as necessary.
• Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level.
• Manage spare parts and alignment between the maintenance department and warehouse.
• Manage work orders, documentation, and assets within the computerized maintenance management system, currently Fiix.
• Coordinate shutdowns when needed for maintenance activities with department managers.
• Generate and Schedule detailed work orders with the maintenance software for all maintenance crafts and contractors.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years planning/scheduling experience; hands-on experience in repair, installation, troubleshooting and upkeep of terminal equipment preferred.
• Working knowledge of the routine maintenance process, regulations, and policies.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment failures.
• Maintenance planner must be able to read and interpret parts manuals, drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner and provide direction to others.
• Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementing them.
• Understand complex written and oral instructions.
• Use of phone, Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar)
• Highly proficient computer skills and knowledge; including, Microsoft Word and Excel; Fiix, and/or ERP software.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.
• Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
• Must possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license.
• Must pass all pre-employment testing including a drug test, physical and background check.
Physical Demands:
• May work in a range of weather conditions; inside/outside in inclement weather.
• Climbing, kneeling, periods of lifting to 50 lbs, and sitting for extended periods; will require prolonged periods of computer use.
