Position: Maintenance Operator

Location: Edison, NJ

Department: Building Operations

Reporting to: Property Manager

Status: Full Time

Requirements: Must speak English and Spanish

Purpose and Scope

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operation of over 120,000 square foot commercial building. Maintain a fully integrated maintenance program of all building equipment. Responsible to ensure that the Tenants have a safe and comfortable work environment, and that the property is maintained.

Duties and Activities

• Perform maintenance tasks to equipment or building systems.
• Respond quickly to all Tenant requests for unscheduled maintenance service as allocated by Building Service Centre.
• Implement preventative maintenance procedures on washrooms, mechanical rooms and electrical rooms.
• Assist Shift Operators with daily start up and shutdown of the buildings automation system, lighting control system, maintenance system, etc.
• Perform routine checks and carry out scheduled preventative maintenance to the life safety system.
• Responsible for the operations, safety and welfare of the building in the absence of the Operations Manager.
• Complete a Daily Log Report on all building equipment.
• Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skill and Competencies

• Secondary School diploma.
• Minimum three years experience in a maintenance/operations capacity.
• Knowledge of buildings mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Certificate in Building Environmental Systems an asset.
• Knowledge of hand tools, basic plumbing repairs, basic electrical repairs.
• Knowledge of HVAC preventative maintenance.
• Must be able to read building mechanical drawings.
• Must be a team player in all aspects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.10 per hour
