CAMS is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Supervisor for the Linden Generating Station. The position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for the Operations and Maintenance of the facilities.
- Supervises Production Technicians in the safe and reliable repair of:
- Complex mechanical systems
- Complex electrical systems including 480V-4160V 3 phase motors, protective circuitry and controls, DC circuits and batteries, DCS equipment, and similar electrical systems.
- Complex technical I&C components such as DCS hardware and software, transmitters, thermocouples, LVDTS, pneumatic positioners, and actuators.
- Oversees work on:
- High pressure boiler and piping systems, and rotating equipment including turbines, pumps, fans, motors, generators, and gearboxes
- High-voltage equipment >1000 VAC, electronic and pneumatic control systems.
- Various I&C components, DCS hardware and software, transmitters, thermocouples, LVDTS, pneumatic positioners, and actuators.
- Provides functional and technical direction to operating and Maintenance personnel on all station mechanical systems.
- When needed, function as a Senior Operations Supervisor (ref SOS job specs)
- Supervise bargaining unit associates to effectively lead the plant operations staff
- Ensure safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, and economic plant operation.
- Coordinate the operation of the generating units with ESOC and the Trading Floor
- Facilitates completion of corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance program.
- Maintains and upgrades the systems required for mechanical operation.
- Understands and executes lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) program for personnel and equipment protection during troubleshooting and repair evolutions.
- Maintain accountability of department personnel through observation, oversight, coaching, and performance management.
- Maintains the work management system by updating work orders and managing the preventative maintenance program
Requirements
- Five years' experience in the repairing and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and electrical systems, with specific experience required on utility boilers, turbines, and power plant auxiliary equipment. Minimum of one year Supervisory Experience.
- Applicable NJ Blue Seal Boiler License or MD Grade 1 Stationary Engineer License as applicable
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Competencies:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems
- High voltage equipment>1000 VAC, PLC/DCS Systems, and a working knowledge of pneumatic controls
- Experience in performing electrical maintenance on equipment including 480V-4160V 3 phase motors and controls, protective circuitry and controls, DC circuits and batteries, DCS equipment, and similar electrical systems.
- Must possess a valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications and Competencies:
- Proficiency in Work Management software (preference in Maximo)
- Working knowledge of power plant equipment and operations
