Maintenance Mechanic ($75K)

Horizon America Staffing is a privately owned, certified minority business enterprise. We provide staffing solutions to mainly light industrial clients in Central and South New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas and Indiana.

Our client in Edison, NJ is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic.

THIS IS FULL-TIME DIRECT HIRE POSITION.

Pay: $75k

Job Overview
Maintenance mechanics support operations by maintaining equipment and troubleshooting.
Perform repairs for all facets of modern automated equipment. This is a
position where a candidate can continue to improve their skills and grow into advanced roles.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on automated equipment.
• Answer calls for maintenance quickly and fully prepared to make any repairs needed.
• Should be visible and readily available on the plant floor as much as possible to assist each other and all other departments as needed.
• Complete preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, both while running and during scheduled shutdowns.
• Maintain a safe working environment both in the maintenance shop and on the plant floor.
• Must be food safety minded with attention to details being critical when working on equipment or anywhere near the product.
• Provide and maintain your own hand tools, including, but not limited to wrench sets, miscellaneous pliers, socket sets, hammers, punches, etc.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical ability.
• Strong understanding of basic tools.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs.
• Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time, and in hot environments.
