Overview of Position

This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance and facilities activities, ensuring that manufacturing equipment and facilities are well-maintained and operational to meet production needs.

Job Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning:

  • Coordinate with maintenance supervisors to schedule maintenance tasks to meet operational standards, cost factors, and quality specifications.
  • Ensure spare parts and supplies are readily available to minimize downtime; work with suppliers to order additional parts as needed.
  • Support the creation and development of preventative maintenance for maintenance equipment and systems.

Facilities Planning:

  • Oversee the maintenance of the company's facilities, including buildings, utilities, and grounds.
  • Work with external contractors to monitor and manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for facility repairs, renovations, and expansions.
  • Support creation and development of preventative maintenance for facility equipment and systems.

Asset & Parts Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, machinery, and facility assets.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to plan labor and materials for Maintenance & Facilities work orders and activities.
  • Oversee and manage maintenance and facilities spare part inventory levels.

Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality Compliance:

  • Ensure food safety, product quality, and plant safety guidelines are met as specified by federal, state, local authorities including OSHA, HAACP, GMP, plant specific and company guidelines.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to compliance.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance during downtime.
  • Partner with maintenance supervisors & Facilities to plan maintenance/facilities activities.
  • Work with Purchasing to order new parts.
  • Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to source parts and services.
  • Backup support for training and Maintenance & Facilities technician responsibilities.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor expenditures and find cost-effective solutions for repairs and upgrades.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements and cost savings in maintenance and facilities activities, part sourcing, and part inventory.
  • Trends and provides reports of labor utilization and parts usage.
  • Implement best practices to increase equipment reliability and facility performance.

Scope

This position overseas maintenance and facilities planning.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities

  • 4-7 experience in a maintenance and facilities role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience in maintenance and facilities planning preferred. Experience in a GMP environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and facilities practices and terminology.
  • Able to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and Bill of Materials.
  • Basic math and measurement skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with EHS and quality regulations.
  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Customer service oriented to serve internal customers and work with external contractors.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Able to work well independently and as a team.
  • Able to execute administrative duties and technical documentation.
  • Intermediate computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Able to independently organize and prioritize workload.
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position including standing on feet for long periods of time while evaluating job tasks, completing audits and teaching maintenance skills.
  • Valid driver's license and maintenance of minimum insurance requirements as mandated by the state is required.
