GET TO KNOW THE ROLE
The Building Maintenance Engineer I is responsible primarily for general maintenance, repairs and entry-level preventative maintenance.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Be the face of MCR for new hires and team members; exemplify MCR's values and set a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism.
- Generally, work under the direction of a more experience BME or tradesperson while meeting all safety and performance expectations.
- Perform entry level preventive maintenance to ensure equipment and building systems operate and run efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Repair and/or replace defective equipment and electronic parts, using hand and power tools; may reassemble equipment.
- Support property maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly and monthly.
- Maintain departmental compliance with property maintenance procedures.
- Support Engineering staff to ensure all areas and equipment are in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, installation, wall covering and tiling.
- Maintain appropriate maintenance and repair logs
- Perform daily meter readings and checks.
- Perform routine cleaning.
- Perform assignments in repair and maintenance of gaming equipment, telecommunications, audio/video equipment, alarm systems and other associated building maintenance as directed or assigned.
- Assist with set up of all audio and video equipment including microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, and ensure related electronic equipment is in working order.
- Creates, maintains, and facilitates a positive and safe work environment; promotes positive team member relations and reports issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Valid WA State Drive License
- One (1) year building maintenance experience required.
- Specialized training in the field of at least one of the following preferred: electrical, cabinetry, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment repair, and/or telecommunications repair and installation.
- Experience in commercial building maintenance preferred.
- Experience with schematics and blueprints preferred.
HOW YOU'LL BE SUCCESSFUL
- Knowledge of building system operations, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, A/V equipment, general maintenance and repairs.
- Knowledge in using hand and power tools, including specialized tools and equipment such as vacuum and pumps, amp/volt/ohm meters, leak detectors and gauges.
- Knowledge of MSDS and the chemicals used in the department.
- Knowledgeable of OSHA and Safety Compliance
- Ability to manage time to complete multiple tasks in often challenging conditions.
- Ability to communication clearly and with various levels of personnel.
- Ability to operate specialized equipment and tools, such as forklift, scissor-lift, and utility cart, utilized in the repair, and maintenance of casino property.
- Ability to troubleshoot and take appropriate action.
- Ability to install equipment, machines, wiring, cabling, or programs to meet specifications.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment to determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Ability to use a multimeter.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Availability - Ability to work different shifts, holidays, weekends, and nights to support a 24/7 operation.
- Physical - Ability to maneuver in all areas of the casino, ascent/descent from stairs, frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and/or prolonged periods of time focusing on tasks. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. May regularly need to lift/ move, push or pull up material or boxes necessary to the job function, with or without assistance.
- Environment - Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) while working and traversing on the gaming floor.
