Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Licensed Maintenance Electrician (LME, J, or PJ) for a direct hire role with a manufacturing facility in North Portland. The person in this position will repair and maintain manufacturing equipment in a highly automated environment.
Pay: $42.75/hr and excellent benefits
Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities:
Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and make program changes to programmable logic controllers.
Read and interpret ladder logic diagrams and proper use of multi-meter functions.
Read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, logic diagrams and blueprints.
Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and install 480, 240, 120 and AC DC volt circuits, motor controls, control logic, and power wiring.
Make new major installations and repairs as well as perform general maintenance and repairs.
Acquire necessary skills and knowledge of all plant machines and equipment to assist Maintenance staff in timely and quality repairs.
Perform PM’s, maintain and repair machines and equipment
Install conduit as needed for existing electrical wire relocations on machinery.
Use of proper grounding and bonding techniques and testing.
Work with vendors to research machinery part replacement requirements and troubleshooting.
Assist other members of the maintenance team to accomplish repairs and adjustments in a timely, safe, and accurate manner as needed.
Observe safety and security rules/regulations and avoid equipment hazards as defined in operating instructions.
Maintenance Electrician Qualifications:
Have a current Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license for the State of Oregon. A General Journeyman or Plant Journeyman license in the state of Oregon would also be considered.
5 years’ experience as a manufacturing electrician.
3 years’ experience repairing automation equipment - specifically PLCs.
Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code.
Ability to program PLCs and VFDs.
Understand/interpret ladder logic.
Must be able to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
