Tofurky is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician/Electrician to join our team. 

 
What you’ll do:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, panel controls, and mechanical problems in manufacturing equipment to ensure the successful and reliable operation of manufacturing.
  • Perform routine inspections of operating equipment and initiate preventative maintenance programs to ensure the reliable and safe operation of equipment is constant. 
  • Interact with Vendors/Contractors during equipment installs and troubleshooting.
  • Use tools such as basic hand tools, machine shop equipment, precision measuring instruments, Volt/Ohm
    meters, amp meters, and cutting and welding equipment safely and effectively.
  • Troubleshoot control circuitry including PLC hardware.  
  • Demonstrate ability to work with high voltage equipment including troubleshooting and the understanding of electrical prints.
  • Demonstrate a professional proactive approach to work by identifying areas for improvement and strengthening overall process operations.
  • Identify and work from drawings, verbal instructions, or sketches on equipment and systems.
  • Complete routine paperwork such as filling out PM forms, detailed Work Order completion logs, recording parts used from inventory, and recording necessary documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Operate all production equipment to perform functional operating checks and ensure work was performed as required.
  • Keep technical skills current through training and education and deliver training to others on areas of competency.
  • Work safely and professionally demonstrating a positive attitude and professional demeanor in the performance of daily work.
  • Work with members of the department to keep equipment and facility running smoothly and safely.
  • Complete daily log of activity.
  • Improve communication between maintenance members on all shifts.
  • General clean-up and housekeeping of maintenance area/equipment/tools.
  • Adjust your work hours or days as required (including weekends) to complete necessary projects or repairs without unnecessary overtime.
  • Present an open and friendly attitude that invites input from production and maintenance staff regarding equipment issues and improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Working Location: This role is located in Hood River, OR. 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft office and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to handle repairs of electrical circuits up to 480 volts.
  • Able to operate fork truck, man lift and scissors lift.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Health and fitness to work safely in areas where high noise, machinery and chemicals are present. 
  • May require squatting, kneeling, climbing, working in small spaces, working in cold temperatures (freezers and coolers), and outdoor and indoor work.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree, trade school certification or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with packaging, thermoform, and food processing equipment and its support equipment such as dryers, loaders, conveying systems and facilities is preferred.
  • Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives and instrumentation is preferred.
  • Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) licensed in Oregon is preferred.
  • Food safety experience preferred.
