Job Description
This position is responsible for performing high quality shop work, and to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner, and to ensure maximum value for work performed. Candidate must be a hard worker and get used to continuous manual labor and be able to lift heavy objects, up to 100 pounds. The successful candidate must possess effective people skills as well as technical expertise.
Job Responsibilities
- On a daily basis, must be able to repair equipment in a team environment.
- Self-direct work-flow on a regular basis with a limited amount of supervision.
- Communicate on a daily basis in an effective manner, both written and orally, with customers, and employees in a professional manner in a field service environment.
- Must be able to wear steel toed boots for 8 – 12 hours shifts.
- Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
- On a regular basis discuss daily challenges of the job with supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned. Occasional delivery/pickup of goods to/from customer or vendors.
Job Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training/ or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Background and DMV check required. Initial and random drug screening required.
