JOB SUMMARY
ONEOK is looking for a technician in Houston that will be responsible for a variety of tasks involved in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, and Repairing equipment within an assigned area. Work schedule will be Monday - Friday 7am - 4 pm with some overtime and callout. This is considered an intermediate or journey-level position that the incumbent can perform independently or with minimal supervision.
Provide technical support for assigned location(s);
  • Maintain a working knowledge of company policies/procedures as they relate to the operation/maintenance of the assigned assets, including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and OQ requirements and implement them into location work practices;
  • Attend and actively participate in required safety training meetings.
  • Perform routine testing, inspection, and maintenance, troubleshooting and Repair of all assigned mainline and facility equipment/systems, including but not limited to: pumps, electric motors, electrical equipment, electronic and/or pneumatic instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, measurement systems, product testing & analysis, piping systems, valves, centrifugal, positive displacement pumps, positive displacement meters, turbine meters, tank mixers, and similar other equipment and systems.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation/records associated with performed Maintenance and Repair.
  • Manage location projects, including major overhauls, troubleshooting for pumps and mechanical seals, new installations, or modifications of existing equipment, etc.

Inspects and maintains various electrical/electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, analyzers, measurement, control and automation systems, and related equipment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Install, operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate/adjust, and maintain the following equipment including but not limited to:
    • Calorimeters
    • Gravitometers/Densitometers
    • Chromatographs
    • Telemetering systems
    • Moisture analyzers
    • ESD systems
    • Electronic odorization systems
    • Flow computers
    • PH and conductivity probes
    • Instrumentation
    • Meter tubes and orifice plates
    • Satellite equipment
    • Analytical equipment
    • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and remote terminal units and equipment
    • Distributed Control System (DCS)
    • Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems
  • Perform preventative Maintenance and/or analytical testing on compressors/engines, drivers, and auxiliary equipment
  • Maintain electrical power circuits, switch gear, and power distribution
  • Install and maintain security/intrusion systems
  • Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles
  • Maintain and/or prepare reports and/or records including but not limited to:
    • Maintenance and repair records
    • Safety and environmental reports
    • Mechanical drawings
    • Electrical schematics and diagrams
    • Pressure readings
    • Material and supply orders
    • Loop sheets
  • Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.

  • Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including but not limited to:

    • Gas processing fundamentals
    • Computers and related software
    • Governmental rules, regulations, and (electric) codes
    • Company policies and procedures including safe handling practices for flammable gases, liquids, and high pressure systems

  • Experience reading and interpreting repair orders, mechanical drawings, procedures, charts, diagrams, dials, gauges, and equipment manuals
  • Experience preparing, processing, or verifying Maintenance and Repair records, safety and environmental reports, electrical schematics and diagrams, pressure readings, and material and supply orders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of: the use and function of reciprocating or gas turbine engines, compressors, and electronic and processing equipment applicable to position
  • Knowledge of: instrumentation, electronics, tools and control systems
  • Ability to: apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebraic formulas
  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information and instructions
