What's the role?
The Machine Operator supports the day-to-day operations in Hilti’s Value-Added Service Center (VASC) with the manufacturing and assembly of standard and custom customer orders. Duties include set up and operating horizontal bandsaw and industrial equipment to cut threaded rod, strut, and other materials to customer and internal quality specifications. The Machine Operator performs required quality and maintenance checks and minor/routine equipment maintenance as needed. Assists with assembly and prefabrication of product for customer orders.

What does the role involve?
- Follow standard processes to build and produce standard and custom products to defines specifications in production paperwork and project documentation.
- Perform product modifications and product packaging to PBL (Project Business Logistics) specifications.
- Execute defined quality and maintenance checks and participate in minor equipment maintenance as needed.
- Material handling tasks associated with working in a production-type environment.
- Package and stage completed product for shipment.
- Maintain active equipment spare parts inventory.
- Keep work area, tools, and equipment organized and in working order.
- Actively engage and contribute to department continuous improvement activities.
- Additional duties as assigned.

What you need is:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude- ability to perform basic arithmetic, read and convert between decimals and fractions, use basic calculator.
- Ability to read and interpret technical work instructions and drawings.
- Basic computer skills required- SAP experience preferred but not required.
- Forklift certification required (will provide training once hired, if needed).
- Workshop environment subject to heat, cold, noise, dust, and other particles.
- Operation of large equipment and machinery (i.e. forklifts, saws, production machines
- Frequently lift up to 70 lbs.
- Stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive reaching, bending, and climbing.
- Safety shoes and safety glasses required.
