Machine Operator

Monday - Friday (No weekends)

• The Machine Operator supports the day-to-day operations in Hilti’s Value-Added Service Center (VASC) with the manufacturing and assembly of standard and custom customer orders.
• Duties include set up and operating horizontal bandsaw and industrial equipment to cut threaded rod, strut, and other materials to customer and internal quality specifications.
• The Machine Operator performs required quality and maintenance checks and minor/routine equipment maintenance as needed.
• Assists with assembly and prefabrication of product for customer orders.
• Follow standard processes to build and produce standard and custom products to defined specifications in production paperwork and project documentation.
• Perform product modifications and product packaging to PBL (Project Business Logistics) specifications.
• Execute defined quality and maintenance checks and participate in minor equipment maintenance as needed.
• Material handling tasks associated with working in a production-type environment.
• Package and stage completed product for shipment.
• Maintain active equipment spare parts inventory.
• Keep work area, tools, and equipment organized and in working order.
• Actively engage and contribute to department continuous improvement activities.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Intermediate mechanical aptitude- ability to perform basic arithmetic, read and convert between decimals and fractions, use basic calculator.
• Ability to read and interpret technical work instructions and drawings.
• Basic computer skills required- SAP experience preferred but not required.
• Forklift certification required (will provide training once hired, if needed).
• Workshop environment subject to heat, cold, noise, dust, and other particles.
• Operation of large equipment and machinery (i.e. forklifts, saws, production machines
• Frequently lift up to 70 lbs.
• Stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive reaching, bending, and climbing.
• Safety shoes and safety glasses required.
