8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Monday - Friday (No weekends)
- The Machine Operator supports the day-to-day operations in Hilti’s Value-Added Service Center (VASC) with the manufacturing and assembly of standard and custom customer orders.
- Duties include set up and operating horizontal bandsaw and industrial equipment to cut threaded rod, strut, and other materials to customer and internal quality specifications.
- The Machine Operator performs required quality and maintenance checks and minor/routine equipment maintenance as needed.
- Assists with assembly and prefabrication of product for customer orders.
- Follow standard processes to build and produce standard and custom products to defined specifications in production paperwork and project documentation.
- Perform product modifications and product packaging to PBL (Project Business Logistics) specifications.
- Execute defined quality and maintenance checks and participate in minor equipment maintenance as needed.
- Material handling tasks associated with working in a production-type environment.
- Package and stage completed product for shipment.
- Maintain active equipment spare parts inventory.
- Keep work area, tools, and equipment organized and in working order.
- Actively engage and contribute to department continuous improvement activities.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude- ability to perform basic arithmetic, read and convert between decimals and fractions, use basic calculator.
- Ability to read and interpret technical work instructions and drawings.
- Basic computer skills required- SAP experience preferred but not required.
- Forklift certification required (will provide training once hired, if needed).
- Workshop environment subject to heat, cold, noise, dust, and other particles.
- Operation of large equipment and machinery (i.e. forklifts, saws, production machines
- Frequently lift up to 70 lbs.
- Stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive reaching, bending, and climbing.
- Safety shoes and safety glasses required.
