Machine Builder plays a key role in constructing, troubleshooting, inspecting, and maintaining high-speed automation equipment. This position involves the customization of machines to meet specific requirements and ensuring their seamless operation. The Machine Builder will be responsible for debugging any issues that arise and conducting necessary repairs to optimize equipment performance.
Job Qualifications:
- Possession of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated minimum of 2 years of mechanical assembly experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for job-related requirements.
- Successful completion of a Ramsay Mechanical Aptitude test.
- Proven strong mechanical aptitude.
- Flexibility to work 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts.
- Effective communication skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Prior experience in working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assembly of new and rebuild of old machines at Ardagh Technical Center and 8 production facilities throughout the US.
- Build and troubleshoot automated assembly machines, sub-assembly components from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Disassemble machine components, evaluate for wear and damage, reassemble back using new or reconditioned parts.
- Assemble small machine subassemblies or machine tooling for spare part program.
- Read schematics, prints, and exploded views of machinery and equipment to perform required service.
- Interpret and follow procedural manuals, manufacturer’s guides, and operation instruction for can making equipment.
- Test parts and subassemblies by using templates or using appropriate gauges and instruments.
- Recommend process improvements for equipment design and assembly processes.
- Operate assembly shop power tools and other equipment during machine build or overhauls.
- Ability to work in a team environment during day and nights shift based on production schedule requirements.
