We are seeking a talented and experienced Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Integration Communication Manager to join the Integration Management Office (IMO) and play a crucial role in shaping communication strategies during M&A activities. As an M&A Communication Manager at Hanger, you will design and implement communication strategies to ensure a smooth and successful transition during mergers and acquisitions.

 

You will collaborate with various departments such as PR and Marketing, and stakeholders to ensure that communications shape the acquisition narrative, manage people's expectations, and educate and prepare key managers, contributing to the successful assimilation of acquired companies into our organization.

 

This position will require travel up to 25% of the time.

Your Impact

Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Communication Strategy: Collaborate with the PR Comms Team to develop and deploy comprehensive communication plans that outline strategies for internal and external stakeholders throughout the M&A process
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and engage key stakeholders through tailored strategies to address their concerns, foster engagement, and manage resistance to change, while ensuring a clear and consistent message is delivered
  • Internal Communications: Create and distribute internal communication materials in alignment with internal communications processes to keep employees informed and engaged throughout the integration, addressing their concerns and maintaining morale
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ensure alignment of IMO activities and messaging with PR and Marketing standards and processes.
  • Cultural Integration: Asses the cultural differences between entities and develop strategies to facilitate a smooth integration, emphasizing shared values and creating a unified culture
  • Employee Support: Implement support programs and resources to assist employees in dealing with emotional and practical aspects of change
  • Announcement: Lead the development of announcement day presentations and key messaging, collaborating with PR, Integrations Manager, HR, and Field Team to ensure a tailored message is delivered for each acquisition.
  • Digital Transition: Oversee all diligence and integration activities for digital platforms including website, social media, and Google listings, working closely with Marketing and PR to align with their digital strategies and IT to address technical aspects of website transition.
  • Social Media: Assist PR with monitoring recently acquired social media channels for feedback and engagement, involving PR when responses are necessary, and sunset channels in alignment with company standards.
  • External Communications: Develop external communication materials, such as referral source and patient notifications, in alignment with Marketing's standards to maintain trust and transparency with external parties
  • Crisis Management: Be prepared to handle and mitigate potential communication challenges and crises that may arise during the M&A process, escalating issues to the Integrations Director, PR, or Marketing, as appropriate  
Minimum Qualifications

To be formally considered, the following requirements must be met: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in M&A communications, public relations, corporate communications, or marketing
  • Understanding of M&A process and the ability to navigate organizational and cultural complexities
  • Ability to travel up to 25% 
  • A valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined in Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

Pay range of $100,000 - $145,000 per year + annual bonus: up to 10% of base pay depending on bonus criteria.  This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws.  Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
