3rd Shift – Full-Time - Monday to Thursday
8:00pm to 7:00am (10 hour shifts; 1 hour lunch)
Must be able to train Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm for up to 3 weeks
Description
Provides excellent customer service while performing work as part of a team. Takes direction from the Operations Manager to ensure the customer’s needs are met by leveraging our processes and technology to drive efficiency. Excellent operational execution will make an impact on our customer’s supply chain through problem resolution on issues related to scheduling, carrier compliance, and general exception management.
Duties and responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
· Builds strong business relationships through quality execution to meet customer specifications and expectations.
· Enters customer load data into the Transportation Management System (TMS). Updates load status in TMS, e.g. loaded, pick-up, delivery, empty, etc.; provide sufficient comments for communication to customer as necessary.
· Schedules and/or reschedules pick-up and/or delivery appointments for all loads. Proactively notifies shipper and/or receiver of changes when necessary.
· Contacts carrier to obtain status of load-tendered; continue monitoring the shipment for proper loading, on-time pick-up, transit, delivered, empty.
· Provides detailed directions and instructions to properly route drivers.
· Collaborates with customer for exception management.
· Corresponds with customer and carrier regarding detention and other accessorial information.
· Validates all load data prior to marking load as delivered (for accounting purposes).
· Troubleshoots, identifies issues, thinks critically and escalates to Operations Manager or appropriate team member the actions that will or have been taken, determine the best course of action, and implement solutions.
· Investigates product overage, shortage and damage (OS&D), and complete the appropriate documentation (initial steps).
· With guidance, conducts route/load planning and consolidation of customer orders, reconciles established rate levels with available purchased transportation providers, and seeks out new carriers to provide service at competitive rate levels after primary work hours.
· Occasionally executes exception-based spot loads and source for trucks and carriers to complete movement of customer’s freight within predetermined guidelines.
· As needed, coordinates customer transportation, to include inbound, outbound, and/or imported products to plants/distribution centers/consignee.
· As needed, summarizes in a final report the completion and quality of RWI updates to customer(s) and works with internal RWI team.
· Other duties as required and assigned.
