Facility Contract Services is a Florida based contract services company, responsible for the employment and management of personnel for municipal clients. Facility Contract Services is currently seeking dynamic and goal-driven employees for the City of Pembroke Pines. This exciting opportunity in the City of Pembroke Pines operates four (4) days a week (Monday through Thursday 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.) and offers excellent compensation and benefits including health insurance and 401(k) with a Company match.
Job Summary:
Under supervision of the Police Department Logistics Manager, performs administrative and technical work in the procurement of all commodities, materials, supplies, equipment, and services used. Performs related work as required, issues and receives departmental purchases and equipment, and manages inventories.
Example of essential jobduties performed*:*
1. Assists with the purchasing process for the Police Department (PD). Plans, organizes, and coordinates the acquisition, storage, and issuance of police supplies/equipment.
2. Responsible for maintaining sufficient inventory and accurate records of Police Department equipment /supplies.
3. Reviews and processes expenditure requests and invoices.
4. Obtains quotes from vendors for department equipment and supplies.
5. Submits orders with City vendors using the City ERP software system.
6. Distributes a variety of equipment to personnel (uniforms, duty gear, badges, vehicle safety equipment, etc.).
7. Maintains department body armor records and coordinates replacement fittings.
8. Assists with annual budget preparation by reviewing past expenditures and future cost projections.
9. Generates work orders and coordinates repairs for PD facilities.
10. Coordinates annual building repairs and fire inspections for PD facilities.
11. Assists with the preparation of asset disposal and transfer records and annual inventory.
12. Establishes and maintains relationships with City vendors.
13. Assists with the receiving of deliveries to the Police Department.
14. Assists with police vehicle and radio equipment requests, as needed.
15. Performs general administrative/office duties as required, including but not limited to attending meetings, preparing reports, copying and filing documents, entering computer data, reviewing mail, etc.
16. Performs related duties as required, to include some minor lifting.
17. Assists with transport of department vehicles, for various reasons, to approved City vendors, as needed.

Training and Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
One (1) year of experience working in a law enforcement agency is preferred.
Two (2) years of work experience in purchasing, inventory maintenance, or related areas, providing the requisite knowledge and skills in the maintenance of stock and inventory, as well as the forecasting of supply needs is preferred.
Proficient with standard Microsoft Office suites (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, others as needed). Ability to learn additional inventory software.
Strong clerical and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, to include both written and oral.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the purchasing practices, methods, and procedures employed in the acquisition, storage, issuance of supplies, material, and equipment. Familiarity with police equipment is preferred.
Ability to make decisions and interpretations in accordance with established rules, policies, and procedures.
Ability to coordinate and manage tasks.
Ability to determine supply needs, including forecasting of future needs, and to develop effective courses of action to ensure availability of supplies, material, and equipment, when needed.
Ability to establish procedures and controls to ensure accuracy of clerical and financial records, supply transactions and inventories.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, department officials, vendors, contractors, and the general public.
Ability to read a variety of reports, maintenance records, memorandums, etc. Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports, forms, etc., using prescribed formats and proper grammar.
Proper telephone communication techniques and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner, in English.
Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments.
Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment. Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 75 pounds.
Ability to lift and move potentially heavy and/or bulky boxes and vehicle equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers, flares, cases of water, etc.).
Able to work outside.
Safely operate a vehicle and possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
