SalaryOverview:
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Logistics and Inventory Coordinator for our bottled juice manufacturing company. This hybrid role will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the logistics operations while managing inventory levels to ensure efficient production and distribution of our products.
Responsibilities:
1. Logistics Management:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Develop and maintain relationships with transportation vendors and negotiate freight rates to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries.
- Monitor shipment schedules, track deliveries, and proactively address any issues or delays.
- Optimize logistics processes to minimize lead times and reduce transportation costs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies regarding transportation and logistics operations.
2. Inventory Control:
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods to support production schedules and customer demand.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical inventory with system records and investigate discrepancies.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts, overstocks, and obsolescence.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams to forecast inventory needs and plan replenishment orders accordingly.
- Analyze inventory data and generate reports to identify trends, evaluate stock turnover rates, and optimize inventory levels.
3. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the logistics and inventory management functions.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Utilize data analysis tools to identify areas for optimization and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all logistics and inventory management activities.
- Implement and enforce proper handling procedures for hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Stay updated on relevant industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics coordination, inventory management, or supply chain operations, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems, NetSuite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping practices is a plus.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Must be willing to travel when necessary.
