Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for handling the flow of goods and materials within the organization, interacting directly with customers and vendors to ensure orders and shipments move timely.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Partner with other members of the production management team to ensure our freight is picked up on time, all the time.
- Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels within the company status of shipping and receiving activities.
- Develop relationships with new and existing carriers we work with on a repeat basis.
- Maintain and develop a continuously expanding portfolio of repeat-book carrier partners in all modes.
- Negotiate rates with carriers that meet or exceed revenue and profit margin goals and expectations.
- Manage all freight by ensuring on-time pickup and delivery, transparent tracking, and operational excellence.
- Proactively problem-solve and communicate service issues to internal support teams to minimize service failures, promote on-time performance, and ensure safety.
- Understand and utilize current pricing tools when negotiating carrier rates and providing pricing.
- Assist in building shipments in our TMS, when needed.
- Coordinate the shipping of goods by sea, truck, rail, or air as well as arranging for customs clearance procedures when required.
- Keep abreast of current pricing and transportation trends affecting the marketplace.
- Arrange for transportation of products.
- Verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Use quality process to record and report all types of discrepancies to appropriate departments and to customers.
- Document new or revised shipping procedures.
- Under direct supervision, responsible for ensuring timely materials goods movements, accurate and appropriate storage and movement of products and inventory accuracy.
- Receive, unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material.
- Update status events in customer web portals in a timely fashion.
- Help with returned material process.
- Tracking inventory levels to ensure that there is enough stock for future shipments and distribution.
- Communicate with departmental leaders about daily and weekly activities.
- Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed.

- Basic understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, company product codes and terminology.
- Problem-solving abilities, able to identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years proven experience as a logistics clerk or similar role.
- Familiarity with supply chain management principles.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with aptitude to learn.
- Valid state motor vehicle license.
- Forklift experience. Forklift certification preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform duties.
