Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating outbound customer orders with third-party carriers, tracking and tracing orders to their destination, and promptly notifying customers and sales representatives of any delays or issues. Additionally, the role involves coordinating and resolving issues such as rejections, delays, missing paperwork, etc.

What You Will Do At Acme:

• Book freight with third-party carriers for outbound customer orders.
• Schedule air/truck shipments and making delivery/pickup appointments with carriers.
• Coordinate with order fulfillment team on items such as temp recorders, pallet quantities, and truck schedules.
• Provide assistance with maintaining logistics planning tasks.
• Ensure proper documentation for ocean/air shipments.
• Build strong relationships with clients, be customer service oriented and a problem solver.
• Prepare billing and applicable shipping documents.
• Track and trace orders to their destination, providing timely updates to customers and sales representatives regarding any delays or issues.
• Coordinate and resolve issues such as rejections, delays, missing paperwork, etc.
• Coordinate inbound ocean freight through customs clearance using the company's customs broker and FDA clearance processes.
• Arrange pickup from the port and shipment to our facility or a third-party cold storage facility.
• Enter orders into the ERP system and schedule shipping.
• Handle all relevant tasks and duties associated with logistics coordination.
• Collaborate cross-functionally as needed and appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Education & Experience:

• Associate’s degree or relevant certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred but not required.
• 3+ years’ experience logistics coordination, transportation, or a related field
• Working knowledge of PC computes and cargo management software preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of logistics processes and procedures.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and other relevant software.
• Completion of training programs as assigned and/or required, including meeting the standard of work.

Physical Requirements:

• The ability to work in cold (32 to 45*F) and wet environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

• Report all incidents including near misses immediately.
