Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The AFC Material Coordinator/Picker is responsible for moving incoming materials to their appropriate location and fulfilling customer orders received by the Aftermarket Fulfillment Center (AFC). The AFC Material Coordinator/Picker routinely moves inventory from receiving and quality hold areas to the physical stocking location within the AFC and performs system transactions to document inventory movements. The AFC MaterialsCoordinator/Picker also regularly pulls and packs materials and performs system transactions to document order progress and inventory movements. The AFC Material Coordinator/Picker collaborates daily with other Fulfillment Center functions to ensure key performance indicators are met and that all customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. This is a first shift opportunity: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Physically moves material from receiving and inspection hold areas to appropriate storage locations within the facility.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or using lifting equipment such as a forklift or manual hoist.
  • Organizes materials into groups for appropriate use including consolidation of material in storage locations as required.
  • Completes computer transactions, including use of RF Scanner, to maintain accurate material movements.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy by verifying correct material identification and quantity.
  • Ensures all materials are tagged and/or labeled to facilitate accuracy of material identification for future order picking and inventory counts.
  • Follows a defined process and oral instruction to ascertain priority of materials to be put away.
  • Maintains an organized and clean warehouse including proper storage locations for all material types.
  • Pulls materials from fulfillment center storage locations to fill orders according to system generated pick lists.
  • Completes computer transactions, including use of RF Scanner, to relieve inventory and maintain accurate material movements.
  • Tags and/or labels all picked materials to provide a positive end customer experience.
  • Packs orders securely to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Uses third party software to generate shipping labels for small parcels.
  • Follows a defined process and oral instruction to ascertain priority of orders to be picked.
  • Creates sales order kits by following production work orders to pick, label, and pack individual materials contained within the kit.
  • Maintains an organized and clean warehouse including proper storage locations for all material types.
  • Operates industrial forklift or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials.
  • Generates system quality notifications to document all incorrect or damaged parts, as required.
  • Assists with annual physical inventory and cycle counting as required.
  • Assists in other functional areas as necessary to maintain business continuity and during high demand periods.
  • Maintains an unwavering commitment and supports leading safety policies and procedures and program practices.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Other job tasks and duties as needed and assigned to support the production goals of the company.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer skills including experience with SAP preferred.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to follow oral instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year forklift experience.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license and strong driving record.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time and operate machinery and/or lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, bend, stoop, walk or work in high precarious places. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and ability to adjust focus. PPE is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and equipment of various sizes. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Anticipated salary range for this position: $42,300/yr. to $59,400/yr. The anticipated salary range is what we believe to be the likely base salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual salary for this position will depend on relevant qualifications, skills, and experience.
