• 3 month with potential for repeat 3 month contract
• Monday - Friday
• 8a - 5p

Clinical Details

• Hospital/Inpatient
• General oncology practice
• Potential to develop own special interest in specific areas of oncology and hematology
• Built in Primary Care referral bases with multiple referral sources from the community
• Full infusion service including conventional chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and oral chemo dispensary
• Survivorship and palliative care programs
• Infusion/injection rooms, Lab, Pharmacy, APCs
• 2-3 New consults per day
• Rounding typically on 3-5 established patients as well
• Management of direct admissions from outpatient cancer center (leukemic inductions, consolidations, inpatient chemo for acute hematologic malignancies etc.), as well as co-management and consultations from inpatient teams for new oncology and hematology consults
• Duties include covering pager for inpatient issues M-F 8-5 pm, doing inpatient consults, managing direct admissions from cancer center (inpatient service, typically 2-3 patients as direct admission) , rounding on existing consults/service patients
• Including adult leukemia and malignant hem

Requirements

• Will consider non-local providers, there will be no travel reimbursement for this role
• Active WA License or ability to obtain prior to employment
• Successful completion of Residency/Fellowship at an accredited program or ability to obtain prior to employment
• Board Certified or Board Eligible for medical oncology or Hematology and Oncology

Call

• Rotating call schedule

Support Staff

• 9 other oncologists
• 4 mid-level practitioners
• Team RN care coordinator and scheduler, as well as robust financial authorization department
• MA-C, RN, RNCC
• Standard inpatient consult services available, interventional radiology services, PET/MRI/ blood bank, dedicated inpatient oncology floor, social workers and case navigators, rotating hospitalist services, inpatient ICU with dedicated intensivists

• Epic
