Loan Servicing Specialist will work with the SMB Portfolio Manager in handling customer service, collections, and operational responsibilities related to servicing the SMB Loan Portfolio. The Loan Servicing Specialist will work with customers as well as other departments at TAB Bank, including Customer Experience, Portfolio and Relationship Managers, Legal Documentation, Underwriting, Collections, and Special Assets to ensure that both customer and bank needs are being met. The Loan Servicing Specialist is also responsible for handling some day-to-day functions and operational tasks of the SMB Loan Portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, acting as a point of contact for SMB customers
- Assist customers with onboarding, payments, draws and other servicing requests
- Contact delinquent customers in an effort to collect payment
- Work with Portfolio Manager to process deferrals and loan modifications
- Assist with the disbursement of applicable letters and notices to customers
- Process payments and accurately complete account reconciliations
- Assist in collecting, updating, and reporting portfolio data
- Implement and maintain 3 party relationships that are used by the portfolio to perform certain functions
- Train other bank employees with systems, processes, and procedures
- Ensure the portfolio is in line with audit, compliance, and outside examination standards
- Continually critique current processes and functions and present ideas for improved efficiencies
- Carry out special projects required by management
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher required, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years customer service experience
- 1-3 years of loan portfolio servicing/operations, a plus
- Experience in commercial lending, a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Strong Microsoft application knowledge (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook) and aptitude for grasping and using various bank software applications
- Ability to multitask and work with frequent interruptions
- Analytical experience and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability in communicating effectively, both verbally and written
- Strong decision-making ability
